Gonzalez, Sara

Sara Gonzalez is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at University of California, Santa Cruz. She is interested in kelp forest ecology, land-sea connectivity, and management of kelp as a natural resource. For her career, Sara aspires to be an ecologist in the public service with adjunct professorship at a research university, addressing ecological and conservation issues in the U.S. and internationally. Sara is excited to participate in the PDP and hopes to learn new strategies for engaging students through inquiry-based learning, and how to translate teaching skills from the classroom to informal education settings.
